We have many customers that want to spend time outside their
home on patios or in their yards at dusk or in the dark. In many cases they
want to add more value, enjoyment, or safety to their outdoor spaces by
illuminating them.
Outdoor lighting has come a long way with the advent of Light Emitting Diodes
(LEDs).
Low voltage lighting is significantly safer that traditional high voltage
(120V) wiring. With little risk of electrocution to the homeowner, pets, children,
or contractors if the line is severed, cut or broken.
Therefore code requirements are also much more lenient on installation because
of the increased safety. This can significantly reduce the need for high-cost
trenching, burial, conduit, high voltage ground contact wiring, professional
electrician manhours ($$$) etc. However, because of the performance of LEDs the
cost of operation, light output and performance can easily match or exceed your
expectations.
In many cases it may even be worthwhile to look at replacing older systems to
help decrease cost of operation. Increase features like color changing or smart
interface technologies. Many upgrades can be drop in for existing systems.
It is important to audit the existing site for ambient
(existing) lighting, locating existing electrical outlets, discussing your
expectations for both budget and aesthetics, and locating potential locations.
From that we will generate a mockup and quote of the system to present to you.
In cases of very large installations we can even do a demonstration to help
give you peace of mind on performance and looks in your own yard.
Upon acceptance we move forward with installation and finally you get to enjoy
your new illuminated outdoor spaces!
