We tailor our program to your lawn needs. Why? Because each yard is a little different. There are different pest present, different grass types, and different exisiting soil conditions.
In the Charlotte area we are in part of the country that can sucessfully grow both cool season and warm season grass types. A warm season grass typically will grow best in the summer when nights are above 60 degrees and go dormant and stop growing in the winter. Normally from late October to March. Examples are Bermuda, Zoysia, and Centipede
A cool season grass will do its best in the spring and fall, when day time temperatures do not get above 85 and nights are not freezing. It may only go dormant for a few weeks in winter or when temperatures get very hot during the summer. Examples are Tall Fescue, Fine Fescue, and Rye.
For both main grass types we include granular slow release fertilizers. These generally cost more but deliver greener and healthier lawns.
We also include other ammendments to help with micronutrients, biology in the soil and uptake of the primary nutrients in the slow release fertilizers. These are typically sprayed onto your lawn and can help boost root health, density of the grass, color of the grass and health under stress.
For cool season grasses. Fungicide is included as part of our program at no additional cost. This prevents a lot of disease issues and die off in the summer months that we see on cool season grasses.
We will recommend grub, army worm, fungicide control on warm season grasses or other pest controls if needed. Quotes can be provided as a preventative measure.
